“Cast your net into deeper water,” said Jesus, and Andrew did exactly that. The mission of Sacred Heart Major Seminary’s Fishermen’s Fund is simple yet vital: To ensure that no vocation — no calling from God — is hindered due to financial need.
A Sacred Heart undergraduate seminarian often assumes personal debt to pay for up to four years of academic formation prior to entering the seminary’s Graduate School of Theology.
Since the Fund’s founding in 2005, more than 400 Sacred Heart students have been blessed with scholarship support from The Fishermen’s Fund. The Fund “casts a net” of support for our deserving students. Would you consider a gift that directly supports a student in formation for the priesthood?

Sacred Heart Major Seminary, located in the heart of Detroit, prepares candidates for the Roman Catholic priesthood for the Archdiocese of Detroit and dioceses nationally and internationally. Sacred Heart is a leading center of the New Evangelization forming priests, deacons and lay ministers who are prepared to bring the truth of the Gospel to an increasingly secularized world.
Seminarians are formed as disciples who are equipped to proclaim, teach, and defend the Faith effectively, who are true shepherds of souls, who strive to live in intimate union with God, and who pursue a life of virtue as an effective bridge for spreading the Gospel.
Our Office of Priestly Vocations helps walk with men considering the vocation into the priesthood by hosting discernment groups, prayerful evenings with Archbishop Vigneron, resources for schools and parishes, Discernment Weekends, and more. Pentecost 2022 began our Year of Prayer for Priestly Vocations. Please consider joining in supporting an increase in vocations.
